The research group on Computing and Data Understanding at eXtreme Scale (CDUX) pursues problems in scientific visualization, high-performance computing, scientific computing, information visualization, and computer graphics, and especially focuses on problems where these areas intersect. We perform research for the Department of Energy, for the National Science Foundation, and for private industry. This research is delivered in widely used software tools, like VisIt, and helps develop new tools, like VTK-m, a visualization library for many-core architectures, and like GraviT, a distributed-memory parallel ray-tracing library. The results of our research are often published at premier venues, like the IEEE Visualization and ACM/IEEE SuperComputing (SC) conferences.

CDUX is part of the Computer and Information Science Department at the University of Oregon.
