Alister Maguire was an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Oregon, June 2016 to June 2017. Under the advising of Dr. Hank Childs, he researched the capacity for VisIt, a scientific visualization program, to become compatible with Intel's Xeon Phi processor. He also went on to look at volume rendering in VisIt, both within VTK and within VTK-m. Alister was also involved in bioinformatics research under the advising of John Conery and in collaboration with Erik Selker's lab in the department of molecular biology.
