Bio

Steven Walton is a Ph.D. student who joined the Computer and Information Science Department at the University of Oregon in Fall of 2018. He is interested in scientific computing and studying methods for implementing visualization at the exascale. Specifically he is interested in the intersection of machine learning and HPC visualization.

Prior to joining the CDUX research group, Steven worked as an engineer and scientist, working on various subjects, including lightweight radiation shielding, powering spacecraft with ambient space radiation, and combustion instability of rocket engines. He received his B.S. in Space Physics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
