The research group on Computing and Data Understanding at eXtreme Scale (CDUX) pursues problems in scientific visualization, high-performance computing, computational science, and computer graphics, and especially focuses on problems where these areas intersect. We have performed research for many sponsors, including the Department of Energy, the National Science Foundation, and private industry. This research is often delivered in software tools, like VisIt, a popular open source visualization tool for large data, VTK-m, a visualization library for many-core architectures, and Ascent, a flyweight in situ visualization library. The results of our research have appeared at premier venues, like the IEEE Visualization and ACM/IEEE SuperComputing (SC) conferences. CDUX is part of the Computer and Information Science Department at the University of Oregon. Top Headlines
